A Wave Blue World will be releasing an anthology entitled:
Embodied: An Intersectional Comics Poetry Anthology.
It’s a collection of illustrated poetry from a group of poets and illustrators who identify as cis-women, trans-women, and non-binary and edited by Wendy Chin-Tanner and Tyler Chin-Tanner.
I worked with the ever-talented Venus Thrash, author of The Fateful Apple, on her poem ‘Drown.’ It was an interesting challenge, because poetry is already so rich with imagery that can be interpreted in so many ways. Venus’s poem was chock full of beautiful imagery and metaphors so I wanted to work on something that would complement it. Wendy and Tyler were a blast to work with and were very helpful.
Fans of comics or poetry, but may not be too familiar with one or the other will find that this book is a great opportunity to experience both. It was recently reviewed on Comics Beat and Publisher’s Weekly. PW gave 'Drown' a shout out in their review:
