I was very saddened to learn that Venus Thrash, the author of the poem 'Drown' that I illustrated in in A Wave Blue World's "Embodied: An Intersectional Feminist Comics Poetry Anthology and co-editor of the Beltway Poetry Quarterly has passed away this past weekend.
This Saturday, 6.26.21, JP Howard's poetry salon Women Writers in Bloom featuring 6 Embodied poets in celebration of Pride Month will be dedicated to Venus Thrash. You can pre-register for the event HERE. They also allow an open mic for guests. Once you have registered you will receive a link for the open mic if you are interested in participating!
